Blue Apatite from Madagascar

The fluorescence on this piece is striking - a bright violet (very hard to capture accurately with the camera, but I think I did a good job). Slightly stronger under MW, no reaction under LW. Apparently green apatite is thrown into a fire pit at the mine which turns it to a royal blue color. But we don’t really care about the white light color - just the fluorescence; and these are strong and richly colored under both SW and MW.
