Orange Fluorescent Sphalerite, Balmat, New York

This specimen contains light colored veins and masses of sphalerite in a dark matrix, from Balmat, St. Lawrence Co., New York. The sphalerite fluoresces bright orange under long wave UV, and orange under both mid wave and short wave UV. The size of this specimen is 12.0 x 10.1 x 6.3 cm, and it weighs 994 grams.
