Fluorescent/Phosphorescent Celestine and Strontianite, Lime City, Ohio

Blocky, white, celestine crystals, partially altered to strontianite, sit on a light-colored limestone matrix, from the Stoneco Quarry, Lime City, Wood Co., Ohio. This specimen shows a similar blue/white fluorescent response under all UV wavelengths. It also phosphoresces blue/green following exposure to short and mid wave UV, and green following long wave. This piece measures 7.6 x 7.6 x 3.3 cm, and weighs 180 grams.
