Search the Database

Looking for something special on Nature's Rainbows?  Just enter it in the search box.  Results will show below the ads that Google insists on displaying for us (until we decide to pay for their search results).  But at least it will help you find something among the hundreds of pages on our web site.

All pages will be searched for any occurences of your text - minerals, mines, states, countries, etc.  If you are looking for a specific mineral, or minerals from a country or region it's sometimes easier to use the MINERAL/COUNTRY Index.

Hint: Use a Boolean search to narrow your results:

[willemite AND calcite -Franklin] will return all photos of willi/calcite that are not from Franklin NJ.

Boolean Search Operators

  • The Boolean search operator AND is equal to the "+" symbol.

  • The Boolean search operator NOT is equal to the "-" symbol.

  • The Boolean search operator OR is the default setting of any search engine; meaning, all search engines will return all the words you type in, automatically.

  • The Boolean search operator NEAR is equal to putting a search query in quotes, i.e., "radioactive minerals". You're telling the search engine that you want all of these words, in this specific order or this specific phrase.
