Salmon Calcite Veins in Calcite, Franklin Mine, New Jersey, USA

28.9.2016

Salmon calcite looks like fresh, raw salmon. For the sushi aficionados and fisherman alike, you understand. This piece has veins of salmon calcite within the base matrix of normal calcite and is approximately 15 pounds. It’s a little less bright than the prototypical Franklin calcite, but has a very nice glow to it. Small inclusions of franklinite dot the piece. Shown in short wave and natural.
