Fluorescent Kyanite from Brazil

24.2.2018

Some kyanite has always been known to be weakly fluorescent - a pale red under longwave UV.  With the advent of powerful LW LEDs this mineral can be found with a relatively bright reaction and is quite attractive.  But don't expect to see this under archaic blacklights - you need a powerful LW LED.
