Found this sample of Corundum from Nepal at a local show, and really liked the response in longwave. I've seen ruby from Africa, from Southeast Asia, but none from Nepal. Very, very bright in longwave, not so much in shortwave or midwave. I've no idea what the blue crystalline material that fluoresces bluish white might be. Interesting piece, even if it only adds a new country to the collection. About 2.5 inches tall and from the Chumar Mines , Ganesh Himal, Dhading District, Bagmati Zone, Nepal.
