Chris Clemens

Radiating clusters of acicular crystals of off-white colored strontianite from the Winfield Quarry, Winfield, Union Co., Pennsylvania. The Winfield Quarry is notable for producing fine quality fluorescent strontianite specimens. This example fluoresces blue/white under short wave UV and warm white long wave UV. It is also briefly phosphorescent under all wavelengths, most brightly under short wave UV. This specimen measures 37 x 28 x 18 mm, and weighs 12 grams.
