General Areas Popular for Fluorescent Minerals

A Top Gem – Several dealers in this area.  Top Gem normally wholesale only, but they’re just kidding during the show.   Don’t miss the individual sellers right next door – lots of inventory.  Also in this area are several outdoor locations with tents, filled with specimens from Morocco – cerrusite, fluorite, calcite.  They are scattered about in various parking lots but well worth finding them all and visiting.

B FMS National Meeting – Fluorescent Mineral Society, Feb. 14, 2020, Church of the Painted Hills, 3295 W. Speedway, Tucson, starts at 6:00 PM
Minerals swap/sale, door prizes, auctions, special speakers, and food. Public invited

C  I-10 “Strip” Hotels -  Long strip of hotels filled with room full of dealers, many who have no clue what fluorescent minerals they have. Bring your light!  Focus on the China and Afghan/Pakistani dealers, but everyone will have something to explore.

6,D 22nd Street Show -  Huge tents filled with random dealers – bring your lights and explore.  China and Pakistan usually well represented.

E  Electric Park / Kino -  Outdoor vendors, tents, filled with rocks, minerals, beads, native crafts – amazing specimens can be found here if you persevere.  One large seller usually has a nice selection of Langban and Afghanistan.

1,2  Miners Co-Op  -  Large group of outdoor vendors with lots of down-to-earth sellers who are usually also the collectors/miners.  Many (most?) are from local mines, ranging from rare thumbnails to huge rocks.  Very reasonable prices.

3  Hotel Tucson City Center (Inn Suites) -  Great place to shop for higher end specimens, 100's of hotel rooms with dealers from all over the world.  China, Pakistan, Australia a focus.
