A new mineral to us, we found this specimen buried in a flat of old specimens at a local rock show. We left it there for two days, and it remained, destined to be ours. Named for the isle of Anglesey in Wales, anglesite is a lead based crystal and somewhat rare apparently. After a search online, many specimens available are mere crystals, or a small collection of crystal on matrix. This piece is pretty much solid crystals, with a little galena on the top and bottom. It measures 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep by 2 inches tall and weighs in at 635 grams. A comparable behemoth. Shown in LW, MW, SW, and natural.
